英文中的雙字動詞片語依照結構一般分為兩類
1. 不可分的雙字動詞(動詞+介系詞)
2. 可分的雙字動詞(動詞+介副詞)
要注意的是，雙字動詞片語通常都與原本單字的意思不同，所以要記住每個雙字動詞的意義和不同的用法

1. 不可分的雙字動詞(動詞+介系詞)：也就是它的受詞不管是名詞或是代名詞，都只能加在介系詞後面
常用的有：
work on (從事)
call on (拜訪)
look for (尋找)
get in/ on (上車)
get off (下車)
look at (注視；看)
listen to (聆聽)
laugh at (嘲笑)
wait for (等待)
take care of (照顧)
run out of (用光；從...跑出)
care about (關心)
hear from (接到...的消息)
run into (偶遇)
worry about (擔心)

2. 可分的雙字動詞(動詞+介副詞)：也就是動詞和介副詞是可以分開的，所以受詞可以放在介副詞之前或之後，但是若受詞為代名詞型態，就不能放在介副詞之後
example: look up the dictionary = look the dictionary up = look it up 但是不能用 look up it

wake up (叫醒)
take off (脫掉)
give up (放棄)
keep away (遠離)
find out (找出)
pick up (撿起、接送)
turn on (打開)
turn off (關上)
show off (炫耀)
take up (拿起)
